Handwoven Christmas Cat Collar - green and red racing stripes holiday wear for cats
Handwoven in soft and durable 100% cotton, this cat collar is both safe and comfortable for your kitty to wear all the time! The red chain-like stripes on green are perfect for the Christmas season or all year round!
This adjustable collar fits most cats, ranging from approximately 8-13 inches, and features an adorable cat-shaped plastic clasp that can break open for safety to protect your cat in an emergency. The metal D-ring allows you to attach a charm, bell, or tag to customize the collar and help identify your cat. My own cats have been wearing their handwoven collars for years!
This pattern features my favorite motif to weave. I call it a “chain”, and in this arrangement I call it “racing stripes.” This collar is woven on an inkle loom, which is a traditional warp-facing loom. Warp facing looms are special because the pattern is made only by the yarns held in place by the loom itself, rather than other kinds of looms where the “weft” or working yarn is visible in the final product. This quality of the inkle loom makes the “chain” look of the stripes on this collar possible!
I design all my inkle loom patterns myself based on a lifetime of experience with the loom and my own inspiration.
